Centenary Piano Festival 4-5 March at the College

Ellie Calver, Director of Music at the College, writes:

As part of its centenary celebrations, Pangbourne College is hosting The Centenary Piano Festival 2017 on Saturday 4 March (9.15am to 4.35pm) and Sunday 5 March (2pm to 6pm).  There will be solo, duet and trio, and two piano competitive classes for students aged 8 to 18 of Grades 1 to 8+ standard, as well as a solo masterclass.

Over 110 students from more than 20 schools from the South of England will be performing a variety of pieces in the presence of two very experienced performers and ABRSM examiners, Mr Luis Parés BMus MMus and Mrs Pamela Chilvers GRSM LRAM DipMTh, on two world class Steinway concert grand pianos.  The competitive classes at this Festival have a workshop feel to them – each student performs his/her piece before the adjudicator gives his/her comment.  As a result, participant and audience can learn much from the experience.

If any OP would like to attend one or more of these classes, please contact Mrs Alex Garnier for further details alex.garnier@pangbourne.com
