OP centenary reunion in North America
As previewed in two email newsletters and a separate email, the OP Society and the College Development Office are in the process of confirming venues and prices for a centenary reunion event in North America for OPs and their spouses/partners in late October.
OP Charlie Bown (72-76) is very kindly organising matters on the ground in Chicago where the reunion is expected to take place. The provisional plan and prices are as below:
Friday 27 October
Welcome cocktail party – Hotel Sofitel, Chicago, 6pm
Price per person TBC, but will be in the region of $30
Saturday 28 October
(1) Tour to the Great Lakes Naval Station and National Museum of the American Sailor
Museum entry is free, there may be a coach fee for travel to and from the Station
(2) Boat Tour of Lake Michigan and Chicago waterfront
Approximately $30-40 per person
Evening Black Tie Dinner – Venue TBC
Price per person TBC and dependent on numbers
The Hotel Sofitel in Chicago is able to offer a reduced group rate of $245.00 per night for those attending for the weekend. In addition, Charlie Bown has offered to help with transfer arrangements for those flying in and who may require a bit of assistance once in Chicago.
All OP spouses/partners are very welcome to attend this weekend. We are delighted that the Headmaster, Thomas Garnier, and Director of Development, Karen Hartshorn, plan to attend the weekend and give some perspective on the current College and plans for the future. All being well, there will also be a good turnout of OP Society representatives both from the UK and from around the USA and Canada.
If you wish to attend, we need to confirm numbers and names as soon as possible to make final arrangements.
Please email Joanne Whitmore email@example.com with your name, number attending, best contact email and phone number, by Friday 18 August to confirm your attendance.
